“Drone Magic: The Festival of Bagpipes"
Bagpipe Traditions From Around the Winter Solstice
On
Saturday, December 11, 2004, a warm and enthusiastic audience was treated
to this mesmerizing concert celebrating bagpipe music,
including piper
traditions related to the winter holidays. The last two
festivals were magical
experiences full of acoustic surprises and tradition and this year's
concert was as good as ever.
The concert was presented by Ferenc Tobak of "Living
The Tradition' in cooperation with the Croatian American Cultural Center
(formerly the Slavonic Cultural
Center) in this third annual bagpipe extravaganza that featured 10
pipers representing nine different cultures.
