THE PROGRAM:

SINGING INSTRUCTION:

Students will have the opportunity to study a variety of traditional Tuvan singing techniques, including sygyt, kargyraa, khomey, Oydupaa style, and chylandyk. Classes will be offered for beginners as well as for more advanced students.

INSTRUMENTAL INSTRUCTION:

Instruction will be available for students wishing to learn techniques on the traditional Tuvan instruments of bayan, igil, morin-huur, khomus.

 

CHILDREN’S PROGRAM

Barátság offers a well-developed Children’s Program in our commitment to create a fun and meaningful environment for the younger population at Camp. The customary arts and crafts projects and nature hikes with the local naturalist, coupled with supervised excursions to the swimming hole, are complemented with daily dance classes with Kovács and Michele as well as singing and folk games. Kovács and Michele have all had several years experience teaching Hungarian songs and dances to children.

We encourage all ages to take part in the Children’s Program and have been delighted to see that many of the children are now participating in the evening as well. Based on requests from the children themselves, our evening dance schedule allows our Young Campers the opportunity to dance together with the adults to the live music early in the evening,
